LifePearl are the only microspheres that interact with four chemotherapeutic drugs, such as Doxorubicin, Irinotecan, Idarubicin, Epirubicin. That is, it aids in the selection of the most appropriate drug.
Dosage (mg drug/ml microspheres):
37.5 mg of Doxorubicin |
1 ml of LifePearl microspheres |
5 mg of Idarubicin |
1 ml of LifePearl microspheres |
25 mg of Epirubicin |
1 ml of LifePearl microspheres |
50.0 mg of Irinotecan |
1 ml of LifePearl microspheres |
The microspheres are made of a biocompatible hydrogel containing polyethylene glycol modified with sulfonate groups. That is, LifePearl is non-toxic and has no side effects.
LifePearl is kept in a sterile 20 cm syringe. Each syringe is clearly calibrated and contains 2 ml of microspheres in 4 ml of physiological buffer solution. Accurate calibration ensures the most accurate size distribution of microsphere particles in the vessel, allowing for more accurate prediction of the procedure and more appropriately perform chemoembolization.
Another advantage of LifePearl chemoembolization microspheres is that they are resilient when compressed, meaning they do not change shape under mechanical action, ensuring fast and superselective delivery of substances to the vessel.
LifePearl microspheres are always available in our storage, and our storage conditions are in accordance with ISO standards.

Chemoembolization is one of the most effective treatments for liver cancer, involves closing the lumen of the vessel with an embolizing material containing an antitumor drug.
The procedure is minimally invasive and goes as follows:
-
before the operation, the essential chemotherapeutic drug is absorbed on microspheres;
-
an interventional surgeon makes a puncture in the arm or leg;
-
carries a special tumour-feeding catheter to the artery;
-
injects LifePearl microspheres through this catheter, which block blood supply in the vascular bed, stopping blood flow to the tumor and releasing a chemotherapy drug that destroys cancer cells.
Advantages of using LifePearl microspheres for liver chemoembolization:
-
the operation takes about 60 minutes;
-
the chemotherapy drug is administered in small doses and acts on a specific area rather than the entire body, reducing toxic effects;
-
patients tolerate the procedure well (there are no side effects typical of conventional chemotherapy, such as immune system suppression or hair loss);
-
short period of rehabilitation;
-
complications are kept to a minimum;
-
the ability to repeat the procedure as many times as necessary.
Indications for using chemoembolization of the liver arteries:
-
hepatocellular carcinoma or primary liver cancer;
-
cholangiocellular cancer (liver cancer caused by bile duct cells);
-
colorectal cancer metastases, gastrointestinal organ metastases, neuroendocrine cancer metastases, and various types of metastases.
Chemoembolization for liver cancer is performed in a number of specialized medical institutions in Ukraine. If you want to use LifePearl microspheres, we are always ready to provide any additional information.
