The RICO 7 by Smith & Nephew is a negative pressure wound treatment and healing device (NPWT). Thanks to the use of the RICO 7, the therapy time is extremely short, even for wounds that cannot be healed by other methods.
The device consists of:
- pump;
- two lithium batteries;
- one or two bandages and fixation strips.
The PICO 7 wound care unit (Smith & Nephew) generates a subatmospheric pressure of 80 mm Hg. This device removes small and medium volumes of wound exudate in the wound area.
The PICO 7 (Smith & Nephew) is used for the treatment of
- chronic wounds;
- acute and traumatic wounds;
- burns that partially penetrate deep into the tissue;
- ulcers (such as diabetic ulcers or bedsores);
- closed surgical incisions, etc.
Important!
There is a magnet inside the pump and therefore it must be kept at least 10 cm away from implantable devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators and bypass valves.
