COR Sound provided hearing screening certificates in honor of World Blood Donor Day.

Every year on June 14, the world celebrates World Blood Donor Day. It is an opportunity to thank people who voluntarily donate blood and help save the lives of others. To mark this date, the COR Sound hearing care office provided hearing care certificates for distribution at the Ohmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the M. M. Amosov National Scientific Center of Cardiovascular Surgery and Hereditary Pathology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and the Kyiv City Blood Center.

Each certificate entitles the holder to a free hearing check and consultation with a COR Sound specialist. It can be used personally or given to a relative, friend, or anyone who truly needs it. Certificates are available to blood donors as well as people who have registered to donate blood.

COR Sound Initiative for World Blood Donor Day

Blood donation is an expression of responsibility and care for others. Donor Day in Ukraine has become an appropriate occasion not only to thank participants in the donor movement, but also to remind people to pay attention to their own health and the health of their loved ones.

The goal of the COR Sound initiative is simple: to make professional hearing examinations more accessible. The certificate is not tied to a specific name, so it can be transferred to another person—for example, parents, relatives, or friends who have been postponing a visit to a hearing specialist.

Where to Obtain the Certificate

The certificates have already been delivered to four medical institutions in Kyiv:

  • Ohmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

  • Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

  • M. M. Amosov National Scientific Center of Cardiovascular Surgery and Hereditary Pathology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

  • Kyiv City Blood Center.

They will be distributed among blood donors and people registered for blood donation.

What the Free Hearing Check Includes

The certificate includes:

  • Examination of the external auditory canal (otoscopy);

  • Pure-tone threshold audiometry in a soundproof booth;

  • Consultation with a hearing specialist;

  • Explanation of the results;

  • Recommendations for further action;

  • Issuance of an audiogram.

During pure-tone audiometry, hearing thresholds are determined—the lowest volume of sounds at different frequencies that a person can hear with each ear. The results are recorded on an audiogram and help assess hearing health.

How to Use the Certificate

The examination is performed at the COR Sound office by appointment. The certificate may be used personally or transferred to another person. It is recommended to use it within six months of receiving it as part of the COR Sound hearing care program.

The certificate is not a payment instrument, cannot be exchanged for cash, cannot be combined with other promotions, and does not apply to other services, accessories, repairs, or hearing aids.

Why Hearing Checks Matter

Hearing changes can affect communication and everyday life. Timely hearing checks help assess hearing health and, if necessary, provide recommendations for further action. It is especially important to consult a specialist if speech becomes harder to understand, if you frequently ask people to repeat themselves, or if you need to increase the volume of the TV or phone.

Periodic hearing checks are also advisable even without noticeable complaints, especially for older adults and people who are regularly exposed to loud noise.

Hearing Care as an Extension of the Donor Initiative

World Blood Donor Day is a reminder of mutual support. People who participate in the donor movement help others. The COR Sound initiative gives them an opportunity to take care of their own hearing or share this opportunity with someone close to them.
