Nonabsorbable surgical suture material

Хірургічний шовний матеріал, що не розсмоктується виготовляють з: поліестерних волокон, поліпропілену, фторполімерів, нержавіючої сталі тощо. Поліестерні нитки менш реактивні в тканинах, ніж поліамідні. Поліпропіленові нитки інертні в тканинах, тому не провокують запалень, наривів, виникнення лігатурних свищів. Фторполімерні шовні матеріали найтехнологічніші з медичних матеріалів, вони міцні, еластичні, гнучкі та м'які. Сталеві нитки використовуються для виготовлення електродів в кардіохірургії.
